Fund Accountant

Turning Rock Partners is a principal investment firm focused on alternative investments. The firm specializes in value-oriented, opportunistic investments with a measure of downside protection. Underlying investments can include corporate debt, corporate equity and other special situations or privately negotiated financings or asset purchases involving cash flowing North American lower and mid-market companies.  

Turning Rock is looking for a Fund Accountant to work with us in our New York City Office.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Assist with Cash Management, including Cash Availability, Forecasting/Projecting Capital Calls and Distributions.
  • Review quarterly work papers from Administrator, IRR calculations, including Partner allocations and income and expense components, Management Fee calculations.
  • Assist with various compliance directives.
  • Assist on various Fund tax allocations, including Tax Returns, K-1/K-3 reporting process.
  • Reviewing various compliance and regulatory reporting such as Form PF, FAR Reporting, Form ADV, CIMA, FACTA.  
  • Reviewing quarterly reporting to investors including investor capital statements, ILPA fee analysis.
  • Preparing management requests, investor requests, confirms.
  • Assist Investor Servicing on marketing materials, internal and external information requests.  
  • Partnering with Investment Team on investment closing process, fund flow analysis, and credit agreements. 
  • Assist with management of various service providers.  

The Value You Deliver

  • Aiding team on monthly and quarterly review of books and records prepared by the Funds Administrator, including accrual and expense analysis, investors allocation, quarterly and monthly interest and dividend calculations.  
  • Assisting with annual audits, review quarterly financial statements and annual audited financial statements.
  • Maintenance of accounting deadlines, aligning company goals with team goals.

Knowledge, Skills, And/Or Abilities

  • General understanding of partner accounting, previous experience preferred.
  • Cobalt or Investran experience preferred. 
  • Ability to work at NYC office. 

Education And/Or Experience

  • 2-4 years relevant experience, public accounting background preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.  
  • CPA designation, or is in the process of completing their CPA designation.
